LESS NRW, HIGHER PROFIT

For every water district and water utility, Non-Revenue Water (NRW) is one of the biggest operational challenges. NRW refers to the water that is produced but not billed because it is lost before reaching the customer. Common causes include pipe leakage, poor joint installation, aging infrastructure, illegal connections, and system maintenance issues.

Because the pipeline network represents the largest component of any water distribution system, the quality of the piping system plays a critical role in reducing water loss.

Neltex Pressureline is engineered to help minimize leakage-related NRW through its factory-installed integral fixed seal and Powerlock gasket system. Unlike manually installed gaskets that may be affected by improper installation, dust, or misalignment, the Neltex fixed seal is machine-installed under controlled factory conditions to ensure consistent joint quality and reliable sealing performance.

In addition, every Neltex Pressureline pipe undergoes automated ultrasonic scanning during production, measuring eight sections of each pipe to maintain uniform wall thickness along both the pipe barrel and the socket. This manufacturing process helps ensure proper gasket compression and joint integrity, reducing the risk of leakage caused by uneven socket dimensions.

By helping reduce leakage within the distribution network, Neltex Pressureline supports lower water losses, improved system efficiency, and higher revenue recovery. For water districts and utilities, less system loss means more billable water, lower maintenance costs, and greater operational profitability.

PIPE REPLACEMENT FOR LESSER NRW

A water distribution network consists of two major pipeline systems: transmission lines and distribution lines. Transmission lines serve as the main arteries of the network, transporting large volumes of treated water from treatment plants or reservoirs to storage facilities and service areas. Distribution lines branch from these main pipelines to deliver potable water directly to homes, businesses, and other end users.

As water infrastructure ages, pipelines become more susceptible to leaks, joint failures, and pressure losses, contributing to Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and increasing maintenance costs. Rather than relying solely on repeated repairs, many water utilities adopt strategic pipe replacement programs to improve long-term system performance.

Neltex Pressureline is designed for both transmission and distribution applications, making it an ideal solution for pipeline rehabilitation and network upgrades. Utilities can implement phased replacement projects, prioritizing one transmission line, one distribution zone, or high-leakage areas based on asset condition and NRW data. This allows infrastructure improvements to be carried out without requiring immediate replacement of the entire network.

By replacing aging pipelines with Neltex Pressureline, water utilities can improve network reliability, reduce leakage-related water losses, lower maintenance requirements, and extend the service life of their water distribution systems. A planned pipe replacement program is not only an investment in infrastructure it is an investment in operational efficiency, sustainable water management, and long-term revenue protection.

EVEN PIPE THICKNESS AND SOCKET

The pipe socket is one of the most critical sections of a pressurized water distribution system because it is where two pipes are joined together. The quality and wall thickness of the socket directly influence joint integrity, gasket sealing, and long-term system reliability. Since many pipeline leaks originate at pipe joints, maintaining a properly manufactured socket is essential in reducing leakage-related Non-Revenue Water (NRW).

Neltex Pressureline is manufactured using an automated ultrasonic scanning system that continuously monitors wall thickness during production. Each pipe is scanned across eight sections, enabling the system to communicate with the extrusion line in real time and maintain consistent wall thickness throughout the entire pipe—including the socket area.

To achieve this, Neltex carefully controls the extrusion process by providing additional material in the section where the socket will be formed. When the pipe end is expanded into a socket, the finished socket maintains a wall thickness comparable to the pipe body. This ensures that both the pipe barrel and the socket have the structural strength required to withstand operating pressure while maintaining proper gasket compression.

In comparison, other commercially available PVC pressure pipes have thinner socket that may reduce the amount of material available to resist internal pressure and can affect long-term joint performance under demanding operating conditions.

By maintaining uniform wall thickness in both the pipe body and socket, Neltex Pressureline provides more consistent joint integrity and reliable sealing performance. Combined with the Powerlock factory-installed fixed seal system and compliance with PNS 65:2018, Neltex Pressureline helps water utilities improve pipeline reliability and reduce leakage-related NRW.

The Right Pipe for the Right Application

EVEN BALLOONING, EVEN THICKNESS

One of the critical factors affecting the long-term performance of a pressurized water distribution system is the uniformity of the pipe wall thickness. Variations in wall thickness can create weak points that are more susceptible to stress, deformation, or premature failure under continuous operating pressure. Maintaining consistent wall thickness throughout the pipe is essential to ensuring structural integrity and reliable performance.

To achieve this, Neltex Pressureline utilizes an advanced automated ultrasonic scanning system during the manufacturing process. Every Pressureline pipe is scanned at eight different sections in real time, allowing the ultrasonic system to continuously monitor wall thickness and communicate directly with the extrusion equipment. Any variation is automatically corrected during production, ensuring a more uniform pipe body from end to end.

This manufacturing technology helps produce pipes with consistent wall thickness that comply with Philippine National Standards (PNS 65:2018) for pressure pipes. Uniform wall thickness enables the pipe to distribute internal water pressure more evenly, reducing localized stress that may occur in thinner sections of the pipe.

The result is a pressure pipe engineered for consistent performance, improved durability, and reliable operation in water distribution systems. When combined with the Neltex Powerlock factory-installed fixed seal system, this contributes to stronger joint integrity and helps reduce the risk of leakage within the pipeline network.

NATIONWIDE LOGISTIC ADVANTAGE

Timely delivery is critical to the success of water infrastructure projects. Delays in pipe deliveries can affect construction schedules, increase project costs, and postpone water service implementation. For contractors, developers, and water utilities, choosing a supplier with dependable logistics is just as important as choosing a high-quality piping system.

Neltex Pressureline is supported by a nationwide manufacturing and distribution network capable of supplying pressure pipes with diameters of up to 500 mm for transmission and distribution water systems. Backed by an annual manufacturing capacity of 50,000 metric tons, Neltex is equipped to support projects ranging from municipal water systems to large-scale infrastructure developments across the Philippines.

To ensure efficient project execution, Neltex utilizes an automated logistics and delivery management system that enables better production planning, inventory management, and shipment scheduling. This allows the company to coordinate deliveries efficiently and provide customers with products when and where they are needed.

Whether the project is located in Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao, Neltex works closely with contractors, developers, and water utilities to deliver pressure pipes on time and in full, helping minimize construction delays and maintain project schedules.

By combining reliable manufacturing capacity, nationwide distribution, and efficient logistics, Neltex Pressureline provides not only a high-performance piping system but also a dependable supply chain that supports successful project completion.
